Fred Olsen Cruise Lines’ Boudicca was the first ship to berth at the new cruise quay in Leixoes on April 28.
The Portuguese port put on a welcome for the passengers and crew which included music and animation on the quayside, souvenirs of the day and wine tasting.
The inauguration included a river boat tour on the River Douro departing from the new quay for key crew members including the captain and hotel manager.
The Minister of Transport presented a plaque to the Master of Boudicca in recognition of the ship’s first visit.
