The Port of Cromarty Firth, also known as Invergordon, has appointed Allison McGuire as cruise manager. Now relocated from London to Inverness, she brings with her two decades of experience in the industry, having worked for Saga in the UK and Oceania Cruises in Florida.

About 52% more cruise passengers visited in 2017, generating £14m (€15.67m) for the Highland economy. McGuire will strive to build on the success of outgoing cruise manager, Captain Iain Dunderdale. She is looking forward to working with local businesses and the community to embrace the opportunities surrounding the growing cruise industry in Invergordon.

Bob Buskie, chief executive Port of Cromarty Firth, said: ”We are all delighted to welcome Allison to the team. She has such vast experience in the industry and was the ideal candidate to replace Captain Dunderdale. The cruise sector plays a vital role for businesses and tourist attractions throughout the Highlands and Allison will continue our mission to create further jobs and boost tourism to our communities.”
