IJmuiden Cruise Season 2016 vs 2017

The 2016 cruise year in IJmuiden was not a record season, but still we had many interesting calls. On December 18th Saga Sapphire has officially closed our season.
A total of 32 calls (24 transit and 8 turn arounds), 52.581 passengers and 16.241 crewmembers found their way in IJmuiden. Whether it was for a smooth (dis)-embark on HAL’s Prinsendam or a day-stay in Holland, visiting one of the many must-sees Holland has to offer…

Aida was a frequent visitor of the Felison Cruise Terminal. Besides the Aidaluna and the Aidavita, the Aidasol berthed 12 times! at our terminal.
4 maiden calls were welcomed in 2016. Pullmantours Monarch sailed for the first time to Europe. After visiting IJmuiden she was heading for the Baltic in the summer. Also Aida Vita had her maiden call last April. The third maiden was the Sea Adventurer. This expedition ship disembarked all passengers in IJmuiden to prepare the ship for a new expedition. In October we received one unexpected call from the Ocean Dream. Due to problems with the locks, she was not able to dock in Amsterdam and choose for a stay in IJmuiden, so her passengers were able to continue their planned shore excursions.
Further, Prinsendam called 7 times, Saga visits several times with the Pearl II and the Sapphire, CMV’s Astor and the Artania from Phoenix Reisen are completing the 2016 list.

Looking forward to the 2017 season, we see many cruise vessels returning to our port. From the AIDA family we welcome the Vita, the Luna, the Mar but also the Sol (6calls). Further the Monarch will return to IJmuiden. Saga Pearl II & Saga Sapphire, Artania & Amadea and also the good vessel Astor. We are looking forward to another exciting season!

IJmuiden

The port of IJmuiden is situated along the North Sea canal estuary, which discharges into the sea through enormous locks. Cruise ships moor at the Felison Terminal, which is conveniently located on the seaward side of the locks.
