Helsingborg awaits maiden call from Star Princess

Submitted by CE-Press on 6 June 2010 - 6:47pm

Princess Cruises’ Star Princess will call at Helsingborg, Sweden, for the first time on June 20. The port is also happy to have Sea Cloud II return this year. In total there will be 6 calls and 15,000 passengers in 2010 compared with 13 calls and 25,000 passengers in 2009.

The port has three quays available for cruiseships: North Harbour (Elsinore quay) is 200m long with a depth of 7m; Ocean Harbour of 480m and 10m and South Harbour of 460m and between 8m and 13.5m depth.

North Harbour is in the city centre, Ocean Habour 1km and South Harbour 4km from the centre. The maximum size of vessel that is able to come alongside is 240m long and 13.5m draught, explains Andreas Eriksson, marketing and information manager Port of Helsingborg.

There are wastewater and recycling facilities at the port and there is no air draught restriction.
