Hamburg Cruise Centre e.V. reports very positive figures for the 1st half of 2010

Submitted by Test-Port on 19 August 2010 - 12:30pm

After HCC was able to earn very impressive figures in 2009, the trend has also continued in 2010.

During the first half of the 2010 cruise season, there were a total of 154,414 passengers at the Port of Hamburg through 30 June. Thus, the total prior year’s results of 126,839 were already exceeded during the first half of the year.

With regards to ship arrivals for the first six months, there was also an increase of 49 percent in comparison with the previous year. In 2009, there were 39 ship arrivals. In the same period in 2010, there have already been 58.

For the second half, Hamburg Cruise Centre is anticipating that there will still be 44 arrivals and a passenger volume of a total of approx. 90,000. For the first time, Hamburg would then be able to welcome over 200,000 passengers in a season. Thus, expected passenger volumes would be based upon ship arrivals which are estimated to exceed 100 for the first time ever by the end of the year.
