In 2012, the Port of Gothenburg launched a Chinese-language website, the first Swedish port to do so. Now the website has been upgraded with a more user-friendly model, which fit in both web browsers and mobile screens.

The biggest change is that the website is responsive, or mobile-friendly, which means that the appearance is adapted to screen size, regardless of whether a user is surfing on a mobile phone, computer or tablet.

“China is such an important trading partner for us and we need to enhance our awareness among potential clients there. The objective with the development of the website is to make it easier for the Chinese customers to find the information they need,” said Cecilia Carlsson, vp communications Port of Gothenburg.

The port has also intensified its presence on WeChat, the biggest social media application in China where it has been present for a couple of years. The audience can now expect weekly news updates from the port on WeChat.
