The new quay in Elsinore - Royal Quay, will be in service from August 15. It has a length of 145m and a depth of 7m.
There is also well-protected anchorage with more than 20m depth just 0.25nm from a two-sided tender pier that is handicap-friendly.
This year there have been five calls including two from Cunard Line’s Queen Mary 2 at anchorage.
Elsinore is located 45km from Copenhagen and the Royal Quay is about 300m from the city square and 200m from the train station. Trains leave for the Danish capital every 20 minutes.
Although there are no calls confirmed for 2012, port manager Benny Carlsen says: “The calls [this year] have been very successful and both the port and the city are keen to increase cruise call numbers.”
