Chris Alexander has been appointed to the management team of Capital Cruising (CC) in a newly-created role which demonstrates the company’s commitment to offering customers the best experience possible. He will be responsible for coordinating and planning all cruise visits in Scotland and will work closely across cruise operations in the Forth and the Tay.

CC’s head of cruise, Robert Mason said: “We are growing year on year as the cruise industry increases in popularity and it’s important that we deliver an excellent customer experience for people visiting or leaving from our ports and anchorages. Two thousand and eighteen is set to be our busiest yet so this will keep Chris busy!”

Alexander was previously a ship’s agent with Denholm Wilhelmsen, working with cruise vessels across Scotland. He also worked in a similar role with Matthew Taylor.

Capital Cruising, part of Forth Ports Limited, manages five ports and anchorages in Scotland: Port of Leith, three miles away from Edinburgh’s centre; Port of Rosyth, Edinburgh and Fife are easily accessible by road and rail; Port of Dundee, a short walk from the city centre; Newhaven, three miles from Edinburgh Castle and city centre; South Queensferry anchorage, nine miles from Edinburgh city centre.

The company is set to welcome around 175,000 passengers across Scotland in 2018 and has even more ships booked in for the 2019/20 season.
