Dover’s Port of Kings and Holland America Line - a Class Act

Submitted by Dover on 25 June 2010 - 3:39pm

‘Start spreading the news!  Dover’s gonna be a part of it’ with Holland America Line’s (HAL) glamorous no fly European cruises, including a fabulous five-star trip to New York.  This is just a taste of the exciting partnership building between the Port of Dover and Holland America which has chosen Dover as its UK homeport for 2011.

Holland America Line will be serving a fantastic menu of cruises from Dover, offering nine round trips between May and August on two of its ships including one of its latest ‘Signature Class’ vessels ms Eurodam.  With a 20-night Mediterranean cruise onboard the elegant ms Ryndam on its first ever visit to the UK, Scandinavian and Norwegian Fjords cruises as well as Baltic and Fjords cruises, the Port of Dover and Holland America Line have been delighted to cater for the growing appeal of European cruising.

Blending Dover’s award winning cruise terminal facilities with the highest rated premium cruise line in the world, the partnership between the Port of Dover and Holland America Line is bringing class, sophistication and great customer service ex-UK cruising.

Kate O’Hara, Head of Commercial & Marketing at the Port of Dover said, “following on from their increased commitment to Dover this year, we have continued to develop a superb relationship with HAL which has resulted in a fantastic cruising offer from Dover in 2011.  We are thrilled that HAL has cemented its commitment to the UK by choosing Dover as its homeport in 2011.”

Said Lynn Narraway, Holland America Line’s UK Managing Director: “We are delighted to have two of our premium ships home-porting from Dover for summer 2011, showing the brand’s increased commitment to growing passenger numbers in the UK and offering an expanded season of no-fly cruises to complement our worldwide programmes.”
