On July 14, Disney Magic made its third call to Liverpool, UK. To mark the occasion, a free, family-friendly celebration took place on Princes Parade from 1530.

Giant deckchairs, huge flowers and oversized suitcases and photo frames transformed Princes Parade into a Magic Garden. Two Disney films, The Lion King and Finding Nemo, were shown in the outside theatre whilst street theatre took place at Pier Head. Food and drink concessions catered to visitors. Fancy dress of any kind was encouraged with age being no barrier.

A farewell sing-along took place 15 minutes before the ship departed at 1900 and confetti marked her departure.

Liverpool’s assistant mayor and cabinet member for culture, tourism and events, councillor Wendy Simon, commented: “We were overwhelmed with the reaction to Disney Magic’s visit last year. The feedback we received from passengers, crew and visitors was incredible so we wanted to ensure that we stage another event this year which is perfect for all the family.”

Disney Magic’s Captain Andy McRonald, said: “It’s an honour to receive such a grand welcome from the Port of Liverpool and its surrounding community. We’re looking forward to returning to Liverpool and know our guests will enjoy exploring all the city has to offer.”

Disney Magic was calling Liverpool as part of her round-Britain cruise, including ports such Dublin, Liverpool, Invergordon, Dover and Greenock.
