Dover is the second busiest UK cruise port with two dedicated cruise terminals with a third berth available for transit calls. This season Disney Cruise Line’s Disney Magic and Celebrity Cruises’ Celebrity Silhouette returned with the White Cliffs as their backdrop.

Sonia Limbrick, head of business development (cruise), Port of Dover, said: “I would like to thank Disney Magic for visiting us again at Dover Cruise Port. Dover is one of the most progressive cruise ports in the country and is already a port of choice for over 20 individual cruiselines and around 200,000 discerning cruise passengers [a year].”

In June 319m-long Celebrity Silhouette, carrying up to 2,885 passengers, stayed in port overnight before sailing to Amsterdam on a 12-night Baltic Capital Cities Cruise. Barbara Buczek, director of corporate development Port of Dover, said: “It is a delight to once again welcome this impressive cruiseship. As the biggest in the Celebrity Cruises fleet of ten, it’s an ideal opportunity for us to demonstrate how well the Port of Dover can accommodate this type of vessel and showcase our fantastic facilities. With our ambitious Dover Western Docks Revival project underway we continue to work towards making Dover the best port in the world.”
