Cherbourg is looking forward to 35 calls and 60,000 passengers in 2018. In the first quarter the Cherbourg Cruise Terminal will be fitted with a new boarding bridge. On July 28 Disney Magic returns to the French port.

Cherbourg’s Gare Maritime Transatlantique is a protected architectural passenger terminal, meaning that any modifications must comply with the requirements of the architect of Monuments of France. Hence Adelte will install a specially-designed boarding bridge, which will be integrated with the architecture of the terminal building. This new bridge will replace its predecessor which has been classified as a historical monument.

This year there were 34 calls which included eight maiden visits, one two-ship call and four unexpected calls. More than 60,000 passengers as well as 25,000 crew members visited.

About 17,000 passengers opted for half-and full-day shore excursions during 2017.

The highlight of the year was the call of the Queen Mary 2 on the occasion of the transatlantic race, The Bridge 2017. About 2,.000 passengers embarked from the historic transatlantic cruise terminal.
