Last year Bristol welcomed its 30,000th passenger since opening in 2013. One of this year’s highlights is the confirmed arrival of Cruise & Maritime Voyages’ 1,452-passenger Magellan, which will be the largest cruiseship to have visited the UK port. There will also be turnaround calls from CMV’s Marco Polo which is returning to Bristol and maiden calls from Seabourn Quest and Saga Pearl II arriving in time for the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta in August.

For the third year running, the port’s cruise volunteers will also be on hand to greet and meet arriving passengers. Volunteer Eddie Strong said: “There is always a fantastic atmosphere on cruise days in Bristol so I think I speak for the six of us volunteers when I say it is a pleasure to return to welcome some new faces as well as familiar ones.”

James Stangroom, commercial manager, has been appointed as the new chair of CruiseBritain as from January 2018.
