Be part of the record breaking season at Dover Cruise Port

Submitted by Dover on 7 July 2010 - 11:20am

Dover Cruise Port is enjoying a record season, welcoming 170 cruise calls and over 300,000 passengers to the world famous port. Dover’s full cruise programme included the first visit of ‘Disney Magic’ which is now sailing from Dover on its five Northern European Capital cruises.

Dover is the second largest Cruise Port in the UK, and we want you to be part of that success, helping you to promote the many varied cruise lines that call into Dover. With that in mind, a value added package is available, arranged specifically for Cruise Travel Agents.

Agents can register for car parking discounts, and with one of our accounts Agents can benefit from a 15% discount for customer bookings providing an opportunity to increase revenues, for your convenience you can now book on-line.  Even better, Agents who are cruising themselves are entitled to a 50% discount in car parking charges. (Terms apply) Parking on the day attracts additional charges of £2 per vehicle per day and on-site parking cannot be guaranteed so please encourage all of your passengers to pre-book!For all Travel Agents, complimentary passes are available for local attractions, such as Canterbury Cathedral, Dover Castle and Leeds Castle. Why not consider pre and post activities for your customer bookings. We can put you in touch with accommodation providers and attractions where packages can be bundled at a discounted rate. There’s also exciting news for the business this year as the addition of a new Flybe route from Kent International to Edinburgh has recently taken-off and the roll-out of the high speed rail link from Dover to London puts both capitals within easy reach of our customers. Kate O Hara, Head of Commercial & Marketing, Port of Dover said, “With record numbers of cruise passengers using the Port of Dover, a dramatic improvement in transport links and high profile first time visits from iconic brands such as Disney, it is already shaping up to be a very successful year and we hope that our agents will share in that success.”
