Arrival of the Queen Victoria on the 23rd of July 2010 in Cherbourg

Submitted by Cherbourg on 15 June 2010 - 3:15pm

Cherbourg is preparing to receive the prestigious Cunard vessel Queen Victoria next month. The cruise ship is starting a special cruise on the theme of the “Celtic Legends” and for the occasion Cherbourg will welcome the boat with a photo exhibition on the E. Liais Museum called “Terres Celtiques”.

This 10 days cruise will began on the 22rd of July until the 1st of August and will leave from Southampton, Great-Britain, a day before going to Cherbourg, France and will continue to Cobh (Cork), Ireland and then Dublin, Ireland, Liverpool, Great-Britain, Belfast, Ireland, Greenock (Glasgow), Great-Britain, North Sea, Queensberry (Edinburg), Great-Britain, Southampton, Great-Britain.

Horse drawn carriages will allow all cruise ship passengers to discover the old town of Cherbourg, and guided bus tours will be organized to visit the area.

During the call one will be able to see the special exhibition of Sandra Lefrançois, a naturalist artist, at “Emmanuel Liais Museum”, a collection of photos of landscapes, fauna and flora of Ireland, Scotland and Cotentin (France). Moreover, a visit on the Thomas Henry Museum would be a good idea in order to discover the new exhibition of Millet within the Impressionist Festival.
