Beth Kelly Hatt is president of Aquila Tours, a leading Canadian tour operator that excels in delivering shore excursions in their home port of Saint John, New Brunswick. At the encouragement of cruise executives, after 20 years of operating shore excursions, Aquila established a Centre for Cruise Excellence and now offers coaching and training programs to help tour operators and cruise destinations around the world achieve excellence in their businesses and ports. Aquila's Center for Cruise Excellence has just launched an online Tour Guide Training program to further enable destinations around the world to raise their standard of excellence. Aquila's objective, in collaboration with Sustainable Travel International, is to establish a standard that enables tour operators and destinations to achieve a sustainable level of excellence from their tour guides and operations, and exceed the increasing expectations of cruise lines and their passengers.
