The Tall Ships Races have completed a successful visit to Greenock, which saw thousands of visitors enjoy the wide range of entertainment and activities on offer against the spectacular backdrop of the Tall Ships.
The activities took place from Saturday 9th until Tuesday 12th, and throughout this period there were several standout events, including performances by Deacon Blue, Lulu and the Magic Numbers, as well as parades through the town and an impressive fireworks display.
Clydeport, operators of Greenock Ocean Terminal, has launched a new campaign aimed at supporting the future growth of the port facility which will welcome 35 vessels and 50,000+ visitors to Scotland this year.
The new “Cruise Glasgow” website (www.cruiseglasgow.com) and brochures will provide both cruise lines and passengers with information about the Terminal and its facilities. The literature highlights the excursions and amenities available in the surrounding areas such as tours which can be taken from the Terminal.
Greenock Ocean Terminal’s cruise operation is enjoying a record year, with 36 ships booked to call, bringing 52,570 passengers – up a quarter on 2009 and two thirds on 2007.
