Cherbourg : second double prestigious stopovers in September 2011

Cherbourg welcomed this week two prestigious vessels for the second time in September. After Marco Polo and Silver Whisper calls on Tuesday the 6th, Queen Mary 2 from Cunard fleet and the Prinsendam from Holland America Line berthed both on Tuesday the 13rd in Cherbourg Port.
For passengers on board of the QM2 is a special cruise of 9 days begun on the 12nd of September from Southampton and living for a British Isles Cruise.

The two last turnarounds of the MSC Opera from MSC Cruises are planned in this year in Cherbourg on the 7 and 15 of September 2011.
It will be the occasion for more than 4000 pax to discover the magnificence of Cherbourg Cruise terminal and to experience once again those glorious years of transatlantic sea voyages crossing the hold Customs Hall of the terminal.
On Sunday 14th August, the MSC Opera and the MSY Windspirit will call at Cherbourg-Octeville, Quai de France, for the day.
In order to give the cruise passengers a warm welcome, the Tourist Office, the Town of Cherbourg-Octeville and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, have come up with the idea together for the third time, of providing free entertainment in the form of: dance exhibitions, local product market, traditionnal games, historical reconstruction... This event is called Fête Z’escale.
Disney Cruise Line, Iberocruceros and Cruise & Maritime Voyages are calling the west Atlantic port of Cherbourg in France for the first time this year.
